Introducing V9-aligned Australian Curriculum content

Staying up-to-date with the latest curriculum changes is essential for teachers, but we know how time-consuming it can be to update and re-align your content and lesson plans.

That’s why we’re excited to share that from Term 1, Atomi will roll out Australian Curriculum V9-aligned content for Queensland and South Australia, for an extensive range of subjects across Years 7-10.

What's changing?

ACARA shared that they’ve made improvements to the Australian Curriculum by refining, realigning and decluttering the content. 

Overall, there’s a reduction in content, as well as better alignment between achievement standards and content descriptions, and improved links between learning areas and the general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities.

In Term 1 of 2024, we’re introducing V9-aligned courses for 21 subjects for students in Years 7-10, including English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts and Technologies. Thousands of Atomi lessons and quizzes have been carefully realigned, while over 500 brand-new lessons will address V9-specific outcomes and elaborations. 

Particular focus has been given to integrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures—a cross-curriculum priority—across all learning areas. A highlight is the new History module ‘Deep Time History of Australia’, where Atomi will support students’ exploration of Australia’s ancient origins through a series of 18 purpose-built interactive lessons and quizzes. There is also a renewed focus on literacy, numeracy and skills-building. 

This thorough realignment ensures that teachers have access to engaging new resources, ready for the curriculum change, and students will continue to receive the Atomi lessons they know and love.

V8.4 remains available

We understand that not all schools may be planning to transition to V9 content in January. To accommodate all schools, we’ll continue to support the V8.4 curriculum. You will be able to simply select your curriculum within the platform. 

Alignment in NSW

The Years 7-10 curriculum changes for English and Maths in New South Wales will also be reflected in the Atomi platform. We will continue to update and align content alongside the NESA timeline.
